That win was wiped out by another 1-0 loss to the Belgium squad and St. Petersburg never recovered during the remainder of the group stage despite a win and draw in the final two games. In the round of 32, St. Petersburg won its first game against Liverpool 2-0 but lost the second 3-1. The team passes on to the Round of 16 by virtue of its away goal.
